I was really excited to make this interview happen. 1) Because I'm a USC grad and this group stems from their a capella grop,
The SoCal Vocals, and 2) I was really appreciative that my relationships continue to generate access for me to interviews like this.
I spoke with The SoCals' bass singer Ryan Alvarez while the group were on their lunch break. That was very nice of him, since it sounds like the shooting schedule for the show is intense. He's not a star who has benefited from a ton of media training, so at times he was unsure how to answer my questions and had to speak to the rep for assurance. After interviewing a lot of celebrities who deliver canned answers to questions, I found the interview endearing.
